Abstract
This is the last in a series of three papers. The
first paper
discussed the modeling of conductive as well as convective fl
ows
of a single homogeneous substance through a homogeneous medium. The
second paper
discussed the phenomenona associated with phase change, i.e., it
discussed, from a bond-graphic perspective, phenomenona such as
evaporation and condensation, solidification, melting, and
sublimation. This third paper deals in particular with the
difficult problem of modeling multi-element systems. Together they
offer a general methodology for modeling thermodynamical phenomenona
using true, rather than pseudo-, bond graphs. No quasi-stationary or
fl
ow-equilibrium assumptions were made, such that the models generated
using the proposed methodology would be kept as general as possible.
