I am a Research Scientist working for Disney Research Zurich, where I lead the Robotics and Mechanical Characters group. Before joining
Disney Research I obtained my PhD in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia.
There, I was a member of the Imager Lab and I worked under the supervision of
Dr. Michiel van de Panne.
My research lies at the intersection between Computer Graphics, Robotics, Biomechanics and Fabrication. More specifically, I am interested in models of motor control, motion planning, physics-based simulation and computational design methods. My ten year mission is to develop software tools and algorithms that make the process of designing lifelike, 3D printable robots as intuitive and accessible as creating virtual characters is today.
