Education

I studied Computer Science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern-Switzerland (FHNW) in Brugg-Windisch. I obtained the MSc degree from ETH in October 2005. I joined the group of Prof. Alonso in November 2005 as an assistant and PhD student.

Research Interests

My research interests is Data Processing close or at the hardware level. In my earlier work I focussed on data acquisition, stream processing, and programming in Wireless Sensor Networks. Now, I am also working on data acceleration in traditional stream processing. Most actively, I am working on FPGA-based accelerators.
