I was born in Turkey. I studied computer science at the Computer Engineering Department in Hacettepe University in Ankara where I also got my M.Sc. degree. I received my Ph.D. from the Computer Science Department of ETH Zurich. During my doctoral studies, I was a member of the  Database Research Group (DBS) of Prof. Hans-Jörg Schek. The title of my thesis is "Replication in a Database Cluster with Freshness and Correctness Guarantees.". Afterwards, I joined the Database and Information Systems (DBIS) group of Prof. Heiko Schuldt at the Computer Science Department in University of Basel (UNIBAS) in Basel. I am currently working with the Data Integration and IT team at the Functional Genomics Center Zurich.
