Why do I have to write an entry exam, even though I have a tertiary graduates’ certificate/diploma?

If your certificate/diploma does not show that your knowledge is on par with the compulsory major course (obligatorisches Fach der Vertiefung) of your field of interest, then you must pass an entry exam. This includes both the attendance of the appropriate compulsory course (of the third year of the bachelor's program) and the passing of the exam at the end of the term.

How to choose my specialization?

The participants of the certificate programme choose themselves which courses they want to take within their specialization tracks. It is possible to choose a narrow focus or to extend the selection. However, it is important not to lose track of one's priorities.

Can I spread my certificate programme over three terms instead of two?

Yes, if sufficient reasons are given (e.g. your job allows you to complete no more than two focus or elective courses per semester).

Why do the post-graduate studies not exist anymore?

The post-graduate studies were simply renamed as "certificate programme" in the fall 2005. The content and the requirements for admission remain unchanged.
