A long and prestigious history

Switzerland has a strong record in computer applications; since the sixties Switzerland has been ranking permanently second (after the USA) with respect to the number of installed computers per capita. Research in computer science, however, is restricted to a few places, some of them, like ETH Zurich, having a remarkably long history.

TV Broadcast on MTW (Menschen Technik Wissenschaft, SF DRS1)

On Thursday 28. April 2004 at 21:00, Swiss television (SF DRS1) showed in the broadcast series MTW two historically significant objects with respect to the development of IT history at ETH Zurich:

the ERMETH (in use 1957 - 1963) and
the LILITH (in use from 1978/80)
